HOUSE BILL 454 Revise visit frequency of supervisory physical therapist
February 2025Thanks to the hard work of APTA Montana member Jyndia Ruff, PT, CLT, we are delighted to announce that HB 454 will be heard in the House Business and Labor Committee on February 20th at 8 am in Room 172.
What does this mean?
If in-person
If online you must sign up online to testify by Tuesday, February 18th, to be able to participate. You will NOT be allowed to sign up on the day of the hearing; you must do this in advance.

What does this mean?
- We need people to testify on February 20th, either in person or online
- In-person meetings are preferred and appreciated by the members of the committee and makes more of an impact
- Online is also appreciated, but you MUST SIGN UP to testify online
- Testifying in person or online, you will be allowed ONLY 2 MINUTES to speak, so practice making sure you are at less than 2 minutes. Tell the story of why this is important to you, your patients, your work, etc.
- Testimony can be as simple as (and if we have 20 people online to support this bill, I suggest you keep this simple and say something like this).
- Hello, my name is Emily Herndon, E-M-I-L-Y H-E-R-N-D-O-N. Thank you, Chair Representative Buttrey and members of the committee, for allowing me to testify. I am a Physical Therapist from Missoula, Montana, and I am here to support HB 454. I ask for a Do-Pass on this bill.

If in-person
- Just show up at 7:45 am to Room 172 in the capital building
- You sign in as a proponent of HB 454 on the sign-up sheet just outside the room

- You will need to make an account
- Click on "Standing Committees--Testify Remotely" (note that this will spin the wheel for a bit; just give it a minute).
- Click on "on a bill."
- Bill # type-in "HB 454"
- Click on "hearing date Thursday, February 20th at 8 am."
- Click on "proponent."
- Click on "representing self."
- Click on either option for submitting testimony electronically. You are welcome to type up your testimony and submit it electronically. If you click on "No," it will send you an email to testify and a link that is ONLY FOR YOU.
